New Delhi: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) today rescheduled the Civil Services Examinations (CSE) 2024, which was scheduled for May 26, 2024. The Prelims exam will now be conducted on June 16.

The decision to revise the exam timetable was taken after the Election Commission on Saturday announced the schedule of election to the 18th Lok Sabha in April – June 2024.

UPSC Civil Services mains exams are set to be held from September 20 for five days.

This year, the commission has notified a total of 1,056 vacancies for CSE and 150 for IFoS. The UPSC CSE exam is held in three stages — prelims, mains and the personality test. UPSC CSE preliminary exam will consist of objective-type questions. Candidates scoring above the cut-off marks will become eligible to register for the UPSC IAS Main examination.

To be eligible for the exam, a candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 32 years on the 1st of August, 2024 i.e., the candidate must have been born not earlier than August 2, 1992 and not later than August 1, 2003, the Commission said while releasing the CSE notification.

Earlier, the Commission had also extended the registration deadline for Civil Services Examinations (CSE) 2024. As per the official announcement, the last date for registration was extended till March 6 (6 pm). The correction window was open from March 7 till March 13.
