Board exams to continue as scheduled, online classes encouraged from class 6th, Republic day preparations to proceed
Jammu, Jan 14 : The Directorate of School Education, Jammu has announced an extension of winter vacations for all government and private schools in the Summer Zone till January 17, 2026, citing prevailing inclement weather conditions.
The extension applies to both students and teaching staff.
The directive was issued by Dr. Naseem Javaid Chowdhary, JKAS, Director of School Education, Jammu as per news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, In continuation to this office order No. 16-DSEJ-2026 dated 11-01-2026, issued vide endorsement No. DSEJ/GEN/2703-36 dated 11-01-2026 on the subject, and in view of the prevailing inclement weather conditions, it is hereby ordered that the Winter Vacations for all Government and Private Schools falling in the Summer Zone shall stand extended till 17-01-2026. The vacation shall be applicable to both teaching staff and students. However, the Board Examinations for Classes 10th to 12th shall be conducted strictly as per the notified schedule, if any.
Moreover, the schools shall explore the possibilities of conducting online classes from Classes 6th onwards.
It is further ordered that the preparation for Republic Day-2026 shall be conducted strictly as per the schedule notified by the competent authorities, read sthe order. (KNC)
