2 Oxygen Generation Plants Made Functional in North Kashmir

Srinagar, Apr 24: (GNS) To meet any possible eventuality amid the ongoing onslaught of Covid-19 pandemic, Directorate of Health Services Kashmir Saturday made two oxygen plants, each with 1000 LPM capacity, functional in north-Kashmir.

The oxygen plants were made functional at SDH Kupwara and Sopore, during an extensive tour by Director Health Services Kashmir Mushtaq Ahmad on the directions of Financial Commissioner Health & Medical Education Department, J&K, Atal Dullo, in the presence of Deputy Commissioner Kupwara Imam-ud-Din (at SDH Kupwara).

Both the plants have been made fully functional and serve as big relief for the inhabitants of north Kashmir amidst Covid crisis, reads a Directorate statement issued to news agency Global News Service (GNS). Patients indicated for high flow oxygen will be treated at their door steps while as only critical patients shall be referred to tertiary care, it says.

DHSK took detailed stock of SDH Sopore as being the dedicated Covid hospital and ensured that Covid preparedness is as per the established guidelines and protocol besides augmenting the bed side high flow oxygen machinery from 2 to 10 at SDH Kupwara which will ensure quality health care services to the Covid patients, the statement says.

DHSK also visited DH Handwara and took stock of health care services being provided to the patients there and also reviewed Covid and non-Covid health care services.

The visiting officer also inspected the designated Covid ward established in the hospital and gave on spot directions about its foolproof functioning.

DHSK also inspected sections of Trauma Hospital Pattan and preparedness thereof at the health facility, the statement says.

Pertinently as per the directions of Financial Commissioner H&ME, DHSK also laid stress on robust home isolation Covid management, policies to increase vaccination and sampling, action plan for effective micro containment zones, implementation of Covid SOPs maintenance in letter & spirit, the statement says.

He also directed the administrators for effective Covid control rooms and proactive outreach by Covid care teams and directed the administrators and health care workers to implement better coordination among each other for containment of Covid resurgence, the statement concludes. (GNS)
