Srinagar, Jun 2 (GNS): Police on Wednesday said that it has solved a hit and run case in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
“On May 30, Police Post Pakherpora received information that a motorcycle (JK04D-3274) driven by one Muzaffar Ahmad Lone (25) was hit by an unknown vehicle near Futlipora Pakharpora and the driver of the vehicle fled away from spot along with the vehicle. The injured person succumbed to his injuries while on way to hospital,” a police spokesman said in a statement to GNS.
Accordingly, he said, a case (FIR number 56/2012) under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Charisharief and investigation was taken up.
“During investigation, various suspects were summoned and questioned which subsequently led to some clues. After strenuous efforts investigation officers intercepted the involved accused and subsequently arrested from Shopian area within 72 hours.”
He has been identified as Jehangir Ahmad Dar Son-in-Law of Ali Mohammad Hajam of Gulshanabad Charisharief and the vehicle Tata Mobile (JK03F-5883) involved in the commission of offence has also been seized, the spokesman said. Further investigation of the case is in progress, the spokesman added. (GNS)
