Enquiry Ordered Into Absenteeism By Docs, Paramedical Staff In SDH Kupwara

Kupwara, Jan 23 (GNS): District administration in Kupwara has ordered an inquiry into the matter involving the absenteeism of doctors and paramedical staff in sub-district hospital.  

Additional Deputy Commissioner Kupwara has been asked to immediately initiate the enquiry and submit a detailed report along with specific recommendations for taking further course of action by the District Administration.

The order was passed by Deputy Commissioner Kupwara after carrying out a surprise visit to SDH Kupwara with regard to facilities provided to the patients and to check the service delivery of doctors and paramedical staff.

“Some of the Doctors were found absent from duties as per the duty roaster of doctors for which the District Development Commissioner Kupwara has taken a serious view and desired that action as per norms shall be initiated against the erring doctors and paramedical staff,” reads an order by the deputy commissioner, a copy of which lies with GNS.  

 The BMO Kupwara has been asked submit a detailed explanation with regard to functioning of SDH Kupwara and absenteeism of doctors and paramedical staff “which shall not be tolerated by the District Administration.”

“Disciplinary action as warranted under rules shall be initiated against the BMO Kupwara for not discharging his legitimate duties in the premier Hospital of the District.”

The BMO Kupwara has also been asked to formulate duty roster of doctors and paramedical staff on weekly basis and submit the same to District Administration for monitoring.

The Chief Medical Officer Kupwara has been also asked to regularly monitor the presence of doctors and paramedical staff as per the duty roster and submit the monitoring report along with the work done of SDH Kupwara and other Health Institution. (GNS)
