SHOPIAN, SEPTEMBER 03: Inter Zonal District Level Tournament of Cricket AAG Boys started today at Sports Stadium Shopian.
The tournament is being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, district Shopian under the supervision of the concerned DYSSO.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Shopian, Dr. Sheikh Ab Aziz inaugurated the event, he was also the chief guest on the occasion.
Addressing the players, the ADC said that such competitions help to promote sports culture, which is highly important for overall personality development of the students.
He said that the involvement of youth in sports activities is imperative for channelizing their energy in the right direction as it imbibes leadership qualities, team spirit, and discipline among them.
On the occasion, DYSSO Shopian said that the 56 players of U-19 age groups from four zones of district Shopian are participating in the tournament.
He also said that the tournament is being held by strictly following the Covid-19 SOPs and guidelines issued by the government from time to time.
