Presides Over YNC Meeting, Calls For Amplified Efforts To Help People During Prevailing Crises

Srinagar,Sep 7 (GNS): Party vice president Mr. Omar Abdullah on Monday presided over a meeting of Youth National Conference functionaries at party headquarters Nawa-e-Subha, Srinagar.

Among others Party General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar, Additional General Secretary Dr. Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani, Party Treasurer Shammi Oberoi, Provincial Secretary Showkat Ahmed Mir, YNC Provincial President Salman Ali Sagar, were present.

The meeting started with offering tributes to senior party leader Thakur Rachpal who passed away in Jammu on Monday. All the participants stood up in silence to remember the late leader.

The participants deliberated on the aftermath of unilateral and unconstitutional measures of the GOI undertaken on 5th of August last year. The participants expressed concern over the cataclysmic effects of the previous clampdown and prevailing COVID-19 lockdown on the economy.  The issues concerning the public ranging from development deficit, administrative inertia and unaccountability plaguing the administration were also widely discussed in the marathon meet.

On the occasion the YNC functionaries, Zone Incharges, District presidents reiterated their support to the Party President for the restoration of the constitutional position of J&K, which was unilaterally rescinded by the GOI given a ditch to the commitments it had made from time to time to the people of J&K. The participants also expressed concern over the prolonged incarceration of youth in and outside J&K at various detention centers and demanded their immediate release.

While interacting with the YNC functionaries, Party’s Vice President Omar Abdullah said that J&K was going through a watershed moment and that the situation demanded unity amongst the party’s rank and file. He also appreciated the efforts of Party’s YNC rank and file for their resolve. He urged them to keep in touch with the people and help them during the prevailing situation, saying that party was the all time companion of the people. “Our youth have to play an important role during these trying times, I am sure that YNC functionaries will walk shoulder to shoulder with the people in these precarious times and render help to them in every way they can.  Youth are believed to drive changes, and rightly so. But during the prevailing COVID-19 induced crises it becomes rather more imperative for them to be with people.  YNC has a history of rendering support to whosoever is in need, the passion has to be amplified. It is elevating to see you all here heal and hearty. It is equally hearting to see you continue to flock around the party flag even during the most trying times,” he said.

Among others who were present in the meet  included VP YNC Ahsan Pardesi, Senior YNC VP Younis Mubarak Gul, Saleem Akhoon, Javaid Rahim Bhat, Ishtiyaq Ganai, Aijaz Mir, Pirzada Musharaf, Mushtaq Mir, Khalid Rathore, Muhammad Ashraf, Adv Muneer Ahmed, Abdul Hameed Rather, Zahid Mughal, Tanvir Ahmed, Iqbal Qasba, Irfan Zehgeer, Abid Wani and other YNC functionaries.
