Srinagar, May 16: Jammu and Kashmir fast bowler Yudhvir Singh Charak has been named in the India A squad for the upcoming three-match One-Day series against Sri Lanka A and Afghanistan A, marking a significant milestone in his domestic cricket career.
Born in Jammu’s Roop Nagar area, the right-arm pacer has emerged as one of the leading fast-bowling prospects from Jammu and Kashmir through consistent performances in domestic cricket. Known for his pace and ability to strike at crucial stages, Yudhvir has been a regular member of the J&K side across formats.
He first made his first-class debut for Hyderabad cricket team in 2019 before returning to represent the Jammu and Kashmir cricket team. His performances in the Ranji Trophy, including a seven-wicket haul against Mumbai during the 2024–25 season, drew widespread attention.
In the 2025–26 domestic season, the pacer claimed 21 wickets in seven matches, strengthening his case for higher honours.
Yudhvir has also featured in the Indian Premier League, having been associated with Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants before joining Rajasthan Royals ahead of the 2025 season. He made his IPL debut in 2023 and picked up two wickets in his first appearance.
The India A squad will be led by Tilak Varma, with Riyan Parag serving as vice-captain. The series is being viewed as an important platform for players aiming to break into the senior national side.
