Continuing its efforts to curb the menace of drugs Kupwara Police apprehended two persons during a naka checking at Tekipora near Eid-Gah falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Sogam.
During the naka checking a police party from PS Sogam intercepted two individuals moving in a suspicious manner. They were identified as (1) Nisar Ahmad Magray son of Abdul Gaffar Magray resident of Wani Doursa and (2) Arshid Ahmad Khan son of Mohd Mussa Khan resident of Tekipora.
Upon their personal search charas-like substance wrapped in green polythene was recovered from their possession. In this connection Case FIR No. 56/2025 under Sections 8/20 and 29 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Sogam and investigation has been taken up.
Kupwara Police reiterates its firm resolve to continue its war against the drug menace and appeals to the public to share any information regarding drug peddling.
