Srinagar, April 7 (GNS): Militants managed to escape after a brief gunfight with a joint team of police, CRPF and army in Haripora Imam Sahib area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district.
Reports said that a joint team of Police, Army and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Haripora last night.
As the joint team approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them, triggering off the gunfight.
A police official told GNS that there was a lull following which massive searches were launched. However, he said, there no second contact established with militants nor any one was arrested, suggesting that the militant fled from the spot taking advantage of the darkness. (GNS)
