Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested 2 drug peddlers in Baramulla and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
A police party of Police Station Boniyar headed by SHO PS Boniyar at a checkpoint established at Chellan Boniyar intercepted one suspicious person. During search, 30 grams of Charas like substance was recovered from his possession. He has been identified as Bashir Ahmad Rather son of Gh Hassan resident of Bimyar Boniyar. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Similarly, a police party led by Incharge PP Mirgund at a checkpoint established at Harthrat Pattan intercepted one person. During search, 105 grams of Charas Powder like substance was recovered from his possession. He has been identified as Firdous Ahmad Teli @Bhai son of Ali Mohammad resident of Khore Sherabad Pattan. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police station and further investigation have been initiated.
