GANDERBAL, AUGUST 22: The search operation to trace an 18-year-old youth from Srinagar, who is feared to have drowned in Nallah Sindh in the Kangan area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, entered its second consecutive day on Saturday.
The missing youth has been identified as Danish Bilal, son of Bilal Ahmad Hajam, a resident of Hafiz Bagh, Dargah, Srinagar.
According to officials, Danish reportedly went missing on Friday after he entered the water body near the dumping park at Kijpara to take a bath.
Soon after the incident was reported, a search and rescue operation was launched by Kangan Police with the assistance of local residents. Teams have been making sustained efforts to trace the youth along the stretch of Nallah Sindh.
The operation continued throughout Saturday, with rescuers carefully searching the water body and adjoining areas in an effort to locate the missing youth.
Officials said the search efforts were continuing and further information regarding the incident and the whereabouts of the youth is awaited.
The incident has caused concern among the family and local residents, who are hoping for the safe recovery of Danish.(KNC)
