Uri, Jan 11 (GNS): MLA Uri Dr Sajjad Shafi has taken strong exception to the absence of officers and officials from the Public Darbar held in the Uri constituency, despite explicit directions issued by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Uri.
Taking a serious note of the lapse, the MLA, as learnt by GNS, directed the concerned Executive Engineer to initiate suspension proceedings against a Junior Engineer of the Roads and Buildings (R&B) Department for remaining absent from the Public Darbar.
Dr Sajjad Shafi, according to those privy to the matter, expressed displeasure over the repeated non-attendance of officials, stating that such conduct hampers effective grievance redressal and reflects poorly on administrative accountability. He emphasized that the Public Darbar is a vital platform for addressing public issues and ensuring timely delivery of services.
The MLA further instructed all officers and officials of the concerned departments to ensure their mandatory presence at future Public Darbars, warning that any violation of the orders will invite strict disciplinary action. (GNS)
