Jammu, August 30: Deputy Chief Minister on Saturday reacted to the statement of National Conference (NC) Member of Parliament (MP) Aga Ruhullah Mehdi, who had indicated that he may resign from the Lok Sabha and quit the party, saying that there are no permanent friends or enemies in politics.
Responding to questions from reporters regarding Ruhullah’s remarks, the Deputy Chief Minister said political relationships and equations continue to change with circumstances.
“There are no permanent friends and enemies in politics,” the Deputy Chief Minister said, while reacting to the developments surrounding the NC MP’s statement.
Aga Ruhullah, who represents the Srinagar Lok Sabha constituency, had reportedly expressed his intention to resign from Parliament and leave the National Conference, triggering discussions within political circles in Jammu and Kashmir.
Ruhullah’s statement has come amid growing differences and political debates within the party, with his remarks attracting considerable attention among political observers and party workers.
The Deputy Chief Minister, however, appeared to play down the immediate political implications of the development, stressing that political equations are not permanent and can change over time.
